Decide which programme you think is most suited, then contact the Club Secretary who will inform the Head Coach to arrange a meeting at a training session.
Q. I don't think my children are ready for the squad system, do you offer anymore programmes?A. Yes we do, we offer Teaching and Bridging squad groups. The Teaching group is aimed at achieving basic swimming skills. The Bridging programme is primarily aimed at preparation into the Junior squad. Q. I don't think the squad system would suit me, do you offer a programme for the older swimmer?A. Yes we do, we offer a Masters programme more suited to the older swimmer. For further information please contact Keith Stapleton on 07866 491543 or visit the masters page.
Q. Where and when do you train?A. Training takes place at three venues; Bedford Modern School Pool (B.M.S), Bedford High School (B.H.S) and Robinson Pool, Bedford. B.M.S is a 331/3 yard, four lane pool with anti-waves lanes, turn flags and pace clocks. B.H.S is a 25m, 6 lane pool with starting blocks, anti wave lanes, turn flags and pace clocks. Robinson Pool is a 331/3 metre, six lane pool with starting blocks, anti-wave lanes, turn flags, pace clocks and a spectator viewing gallery. Q. Who do I need to contact about purchasing the club kit and what is available?A. Club hats and polo shirts are available for purchase. All swimmers are encouraged to wear these at competitions; contact Dave Hanna on david.hanna@sky.com for more information.
Q. What training equipment will I/my children require?A. All squad swimmers will require a kickboard, fins, pullbuoy and hand paddles. These can be purchased from all good swimming retailers.
Q. How can I find out about forthcoming competitions?A. Information and entry forms regarding all competitions can be found on the notice board at the B.M.S Pool and B.H.S pool and on the fixtures page of the website. For further advice please contact the Head Coach
Q. How do I/my children progress from one squad to the next?A. Progression through the squad system is based on skills development and is a coaching decision.
